Key learning outcomes The doctoral study Special Plant Production offers students an extension of theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of plant production with emphasis on biological, genetic, physiological and ecological aspects in the field of technological procedures of growing field crops and forage crops, plant breeding and seed production, plant protection and quality and processing of plant products. Through the setting up of an individual study plan, the study enables the student to focus on a specific area. In addition to passing the compulsory and selected examinations, completing internships at foreign and domestic institutions and fulfilling other obligations of the individual study plan, the aim of the study is to prepare the student for highly professional and scientific research activities by solving the dissertation topic, publishing the achieved results and participating in the teaching and scientific research activities of the training institute.

Qualification requirements and regulations The main qualification requirement for admission to the doctoral programme is successful completion of a master's degree at a university with an agricultural, biological or other related field of study. Other requirements include knowledge of the English.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is prepared for highly qualified work in operations dealing with crop production in a broader sense. He/she is employable in professional educational institutions and for scientific work focusing on plant science and technology, plant breeding and plant protection, quality and processing of plant products, etc. The primary employment of graduates is in academic departments and scientific research entities of applied agricultural research, breeding departments, processing companies or in the state administration or in the control and consulting sphere. The graduate is also employable at the level of senior management in professional organisations and in the corporate and commercial sector related to agricultural and crop production.
